Founded at the beginning of the last century, our company has constantly evolved. The values and attitudes that have sustained us from the very beginning are lived throughout and form the basis of our daily work. They characterize what distinguishes us as a logistics company. Focus on the customer, orientation towards the needs of the markets, targeted further development of our services, a high degree of reliability and responsibility towards our employees, society and the environment. Ecology, economy and social responsibility are the three building blocks of our B³ corporate strategy. We want to create sustainable value: economically, ecologically and socially. That is why we have not only developed a sustainability strategy, but also sustainable business strategies.
The values and attitudes that have been passed down through the generations of management at Spedition Brucker are still valid today. Sustainability in all its facets has always been a top priority and the areas of ecology, economy and social issues have always been taken into account by the managing directors in all strategic decisions.
In the 1990s, a sustainable business model was developed, photovoltaic systems were installed on the company premises in Aalen at a very early stage, a wide range of further training measures were made available to all employees and a sustainable development of the vehicle fleet was initiated. We are aware of our responsibility to protect the environment, as our current core business as a forwarding and logistics company, with over 260 of our own and 500 scheduled trucks, and a logistics area of over 190,000m², is a resource-intensive industry. The topic of sustainability has a very high priority in our society and has now also arrived in the economy.
Our philosophy for responsibility in the ecological sector is reflected in our consistent compliance with national environmental laws and the preparation of a life cycle assessment,
by an implemented environmental management system, the pursuit of DIN ISO 14001, the reduction of CO² through optimization of cargo space disposition and truck engines.
For us, the word economy is not just a word, but a strategic orientation. We identify ourselves through our clear guidelines for the areas of quality and reliability, fair remuneration of
service providers, sustainable purchasing of trucks, transparency along the entire value chain, long-term relationships with customers, service providers and freight carriers as well as the continuous development of our IT landscape.
Social sustainability extends across various areas and different groups in our everyday and professional lives. It is very important to us that social commitment is
received and perceived by our employees, our service providers and freight carriers, but also by society. Important points for us are equal rights for all people, compliance with work guidelines, fair remuneration and the promotion of talent.
In order to determine which sustainability issues are particularly relevant for Spedition Brucker and its stakeholders, we carried out a comprehensive materiality analysis at the beginning of 2022.
The analysis consisted of two components: a document analysis and an SDG impact assessment (Sustainable Development Goals - SDGs / 17 goals for sustainable development).
